The Herman Bouma Fund for Gerontechnology Foundation has been established in honour of the emeritus status of prof. dr. Herman Bouma, March 26, 1999.

The foundation has the objective to stimulate the further development of Gerontechnology, both national and international. The foundation will support young, promising researchers in this area with yearly grants for travelling or research scholarships. Furthermore, the foundation will promote other activities directly or indirectly related to the objective mentioned-above.

Final call for applications: March 20, 2021

The final call for grant applications will close on March 20, 2021. The Herman Bouma Fund will not be able to accept grant applications after March 20. In the past years we have been able to support many young researchers in traveling, visiting conferences and doing research. The budget will be exhausted early 2021.

Student, PhD student or young professional?

Are you a student, PhD student or young professional in the field of gerontechnology? We can provide a travel grant or research scholarship! For example – if you have a paper accepted at a conference, you can apply for funding here. The maximum grant is 800 euro for a continental trip, and 1000 euro for an intercontinental trip.

Student, promovendus of jonge professional?

Ben je een student, promovendus of een jonge professional op het gebied van gerontechnologie? Je kunt bij ons aankloppen voor een reissubsidie of onderzoeksbeurs! Bijvoorbeeld – als jouw conference paper is geaccepteerd, dan kun je bij ons financiële ondersteuning aanvragen voor reis en verblijf. De maximale subsidie is 800 euro voor een continentale reis en 1000 euro voor een intercontinentale reis. Meer informatie vind je hier.

Herman Bouma
Director Institute for Gerontechnology 1994-1999

Prof. dr. Herman Bouma (1934) was director of the Institute for Gerontechnology at Eindhoven University of Technology from 1994 through 1999. He studied physics and partly medicine in Utrecht and completed his Ph.D. study at Eindhoven University of Technology in 1965.
